Pierre Poilievre just earned a new endorsement — and it’s from none other than ultra-billionaire and Trump’s sidekick Elon Musk.
Elon Musk — who’s spent the last month lavishing Poilievre with praise — is a dangerously powerful ally to have. Last year, he influenced the US election by using his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to amplify far-right messages and spread disinformation — and it earned him a spot as Donald Trump’s right-hand man.
Musk has shown he’s willing to play dirty to get what he wants — and with Canada’s own federal election just months away, there’s a real danger he’ll use that same bag of tricks to speed Poilievre to victory.
Musk’s willingness to use X’s algorithm to meddle in other countries’ elections is a massive threat to our electoral integrity. That’s why MP Charlie Angus just called on Elections Canada to launch an investigation into X — to make it harder for Musk to manipulate political content without getting caught.

Pierre Poilievre has spent years cozying up to the far right — appearing on Tucker Carlson’s show, touting far-right talking points with Jordan Peterson, defending the Freedom Convoy, and parroting conspiracy theories straight out of Trump’s playbook.
His rise is no accident. With Musk and his allies in his corner, Poilievre is deploying the same tactics that helped elect Trump: disinformation, algorithmic manipulation, and billionaire-backed propaganda.
We’ve tackled these threats before, and we can do it again. If enough of us speak out, we can push Elections Canada to take action — and stop Elon Musk from messing with our country’s future.
